Neverwinter Nights Patch [Jul 10, 2002, 1:39 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
BioWare has released a new patch for Neverwinter Nights, bringing this 3D role-playing game to version 1.20. As usual, the 3 MB auto-update is the recommended method to upgrade but a manual 33.2 MB patch is also available, and the single change in this release is "Added code to prevent non-NWN files from corrupting modules in the Toolset," so it is multiplayer compatible with version 1.19. Update: The dedicated Linux server has now been updated to version 1.20 as well.

It, along with something like CloneCD, allows you to copy your CDs to your harddrive, then mount them in a virtual CD drive. Thus the game thinks you have the CD in, and you don't have to wait for gamecopyworld or whatever to catch up with patches.
And, assuming you buy the game and burn your own image, it's 100% legit.
