Quake III Arena Movie

The Project N.O.E.L Website features downloads of their live-action movie based on Quake III Arena. Available in larger (151 MB) and smaller (43 MB) versions, the flick offers surprising parallels with Q3A, including authentic sound effects, authentic-looking weapons (including the game's anti-science-fictional scaling), complete lack of plot beyond what is inherent in a deathmatch, and perhaps most surprisingly of all considering it's a 'home movie,' pretty darned impressive special effects.

The server has been down since thursday due to a security leak, and the sys admin is on vacation and I couldn't get the guys who were there at the moment to fix it. They say that there might be someone there on monday who might be able to fix it though.

We're working on it..

hahahahahahah

wow, i've never seen that before, but that was far more entertaining than that noel movie. True it's totally different subject matter and from a different POV, but that's still funny shit. Blues should post a direct link to that on the main page, just for old times memorabilia sake.

If you want to see a deathmatch movie go and rent "Battle Royal"

You can rent or buy that movie in the States? I was under the assumption that the only two ways to get it were to find someone with the VCD, or buy it straight from the source (and cry when your DVD player can't play it.)

To these people with no free time. Stop watching television! Stop putting the 100 or so hours necessary to complete some of these video games! Perhaps the production of this movie was part of the creators' 'social lives'. I'm sure that there are some of you with no real free time, but I doubt you are the ones who make such annoying trolls.

If you're taking 100 hours to complete a game like Quake 3, your difficulties with computer games runs a little too deep and you shouldn't be allowed to post on this board.

Think they captured that 'quake' feeling pretty well and the modelling and lighing was very well done.
IF you HAVE to nitpick; the girl looks like a zombie when she walks and the armor model at the bottom could have been better...

for the rest, great effort!

wow, you people sure are harsh, did you expect Terminator 3 or something? Sure it has no plot and not much action. I think this movie is great because of the effects. Have you any idea how hard it is to make 3d-model blend in GOOD in a homevideo?

those were the most convincingly rendered cardboard box weapons ever in a live action movie.

Why do everyone think we used cardboard box models? the weapons are made with 3D studio max and implemented in post production. That was the whole idea with the project, to see if we would be able to implement 3d graphics in a real movie.

That movie was extremely bad. Looks like a bunch of extremely NERDY high school students with nothing else to do over summer break but Run around their school with cardboard boxes on their hands. The weapons are all wrong, the haste pick-up has a QUAD DAMAGE sound to it. Even the asian chick isn't attractive (I have an asian fetish and still). The sad part is that one of those guy's parents paid for the computer, the cardboard box models and graphics card and rendering software. If that was my kid who made this I would shoot him and improve the gene pool, some people just shouldn't reproduce.

I know it's none of my business, but I can't help being curious about the name change. Did you sell a hot little dirt bike and buy a Ford Bronco?

Snappy2Stroke was something I just pulled out of the air when I first started posting here a year ago.

Bronco is a nickname that I've had in real life for about 12 years. Somebody, in a drunken stupor mispronounced my last name one night and Bronco came out. Everyone close to me including my wife and parents call me that now. I've been thinking about changing it for a while and finally did it.

And while I do currently own an F-250 I've never owned a Bronco.
