I bought it and feel cheated. Its just like a wussy HarryPotter game imo. From now on ill warez junk like this and buy only when I think its worth the cash. I cant return my copy since I purchased it online. Bummer.

The levels are so small its a joke. I was thinking Morrowind but boy was I wrong. This is a BaldersGate, DungeonSeige game for those who like the Harry Potter D&D garbage.

To #47- NWN was never designed to be a MMORPG; the real appeal is the ability to have your own DM (or Guide, I guess, in EQ terms) personally leading you on adventures and altering gameplay according to your actions. It makes for -much- deeper roleplaying than what's avaliable on MMRPGs- and you don't have to pay $60 a month for "premium service" to have the DM, either.

The game isnt that good so im VERY glad that guy is alowing people to warez the full version. Too many people will get ripped off and waste $30 on somethings thats been way over hyped imo. Its always a good idea to try the full version of anything that costs $30 or more. I picked up a copy from EB last night. I gotta say though that all the hype for this game got my hope up way too high. NeverwinterNights is soooo linear and boring imo. Not much different from Dungeon Seige, BaldersGate, or Diablo. Needless to say im quite bored and will be back playing EQ.

NeverwinterNights comes with a great toolset however, but agian since the game seems so "small" it will lose its apeal real fast. For all those out there used to EQ, DAC, AO, or AC - DONT bother with NeverwinterNights....it doesnt have the size or expansiveness Morrowind has. I guess I got confused a bit. Bummer I wasted time buying it - Back to EB it goes.

To #43- You $#%^@! Okay- I can live with the people who warez it to see if it works on their system. Now you know it does, so BUY the damn game. That $2500 represents a month and a half worth of salary you've just stolen from some hard-working programmer or tester and given away. Would you like it if someone hacked into your bank account, removed $2500, and gave it away on the streets? I bet you'd be damn well furious. What if they then said that since it only existed electronically, it wasn't "real money" and you weren't actually robbed?

Sorry for the rant, but I friggin' work in the industry, so when people brag about warezing games, it's like they're bragging about stealing from -me-.

#37 is right, no one should ever have to know anything about copy protection, it should just work.

i downloaded neverwinternights for free, well i guess it cost me $0.45 to burn the 3 cd's and its an ok game, i guess it was worth the 3 blank cd's but not much more. man i couldnt imagine paying 50$ for a game that has only a 50% chance or less of running correctly. the games industry needs a lemon law like the auto industry has, so then crappy companies like bioware would be forced out of business... survival of the fittest!

funny thing, ive been serving the game now and over 50 people have downloaded it from me (thats $2500 ive saved people from spending on this game myself :-) ) i feel like im helping out, its a good feeling. here is to another 100 or so downloads... Here Here!!

Not if you live in the USA, the DMCA makes it illegal to do anythhing that affects copyprotection, it doesnt matter if you own it.

ahh you probably only needed a firmware upgrade on the kenwood heh. oh well burners are worth it anyway.

Finally fixed my problem after spending $160 on a new CD-RW. At least I can back up my savegames now And I emailed tech support who said that Kenwood determined none of their products had a problem with the copy protection... though maybe the fact that I hadn't updated the CD-rom drivers in two years might have made a contribution...

It's not an XP issue, I'm pretty sure. I've been running XP Pro for about 7 months now.

Check out the Lite-On cdr drives at gogocity.com. Got one there for $80 in Jan., and it's got "smart-burn" that allows you to play games (like, say...NWN!) WHILE you burn! No more coasters!

I dont know what copy protection it uses so this might be totally irrelevant but have you tried the XP safedisc patch thing?
If you have a burner also just copy the stuffed cd to your hdd without the protection(.tmp files if its safedisc i think) and then just burn it with the same volume name, should work fine since its a full install game anyway i presume.
