Project BG&E Announced

Ubi Soft sends along the announcement of a new game called Project BG&E. Again, the announcement is brief enough for inclusion in its entirety:
Ubi Soft Invites You On An Epic Journey With Michel Ancel's Newest Creation

Investigative Gameplay And Awe-Inspiring Worlds Bring New Meaning To Action-Adventure in Q1 2003

San Francisco, CA - May 16, 2002 - As a world premiere, during E3 2002 Ubi Soft® Entertainment will be unveiling Project BG&E [working title], the latest creation by Michel Ancel, creator of the critically acclaimed Rayman® series. Project BG&E is scheduled to ship to retail shelves in the 1st Quarter of 2003 with availability on all next generation consoles and PC.

"Project BG&E is an amazing game and I am confident that it will bring an outstanding experience to players. Project BG&E underlines the boldness of our development teams. These highly talented people pushed the limits of their imagination and their skill area." said Yves Guillemot, president and CEO, Ubi Soft Entertainment.

"What propels this game into the upper echelon of next-generation games is not only an engrossing storyline but the Promise of Discovery", said Michel Ancel, Game Designer. "We've designed a brand new, exclusive game engine from ground up that has allowed us to integrate a whole universe in one game including mountains, cities, towns, planets and more. Our goal was to provide gamers an opportunity to experience absolute immersion through a unique story and free roaming environments - a world with no bounds.
Update: Dutch site Gamers.nl accompanies their copy of the press release with the first four screenshots of the PS2 version of the game.

Gaming is becoming more powerful than you could possibly imagine. Just the form that you recognise is dying - and it's dying for financial reasons.

Sony is destroying the game industry.
All games are now designed for the PS2 and ported everywhere else.
Gaming will be dead within 5 years.

It sounds as if they have totally no clue about what they are designing. Would make more sense if this was a late April Fools joke.
