New GameSpy 3D

Although not yet noted on the GameSpy 3D site itself, GameSpyDaily has details and downloads of a new version 2.57 of this server browser. It is available in shareware (for which a link isn't included, so here is the direct download link) and registered editions, and includes support for Command & Conquer Renegade, Global Operations, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Serious Sam: the Second Encounter, as well as SmartSpy filtering by country.

Gayspy is really horrible. It was amazxing back in the quakespy days.. but just became a horribly bloated, useless program
gayspy on tfc lists will take 75 megs of ram sometimes.. ASE uses maybe 4. With Way more features, a nicer UI.

Anyone who hasn't tried it, should.

the ASE people even have a sense of humour.
on April 1st a message popped up saying that i was locked out for using the program longer than 30 days without buying it, and i was really pissed off, but then when you press OK, and just kidding message showed up. I then laughed.

I agree. Gamespy is a terrible peice of software!
For one, there are not enough ads. I mean, sure there are banner ads and the occasional full screen animation, but where are the popups? This is not effective advertising! In addition, there should be a manditory full screen ad every time you join a server, and frequent ads that pop up OVER the game you are playing.
Another reason I know it sucks it that is uses up so little system resources. I mean, how good can an application be when it does not occupy 50 megs of memory? It just makes sence.

I haven't used Gamespy 3D in ages, but its Quake 1 & 2 support alone made it worth the price of registration.

I think it's pretty cool that they are still adding to the program after all this time.

whats the main difference between Gamespy 3D and Gamespy Arcade?

Arcade is faster, supports more games (over 300 now), and is easier to use. 3D gives you more advanced filtering options and limits the extra features (built-in browser and IM) for people who want to jump right into the game.

I have a cute little nickname for it How about FlameSpy?
And now a message from our sponcers...
Really I think some of you guys are exaggerating a little bit saying this app takes like 50 or 75 megs of resources, GameSpy 3D only takes 8 megs and GamesSpy Arcade takes 30 megs to start and is the real big resource hog of the lot with alot of addware to boot.
Don't get me wrong I don't really care for GameSpy 3D or GameSpy Arcade or even FilePlanet for that matter, even thought I registered GameSpy 3D years ago I have no love for GameSpy or anything FilePlanet related anymore, and I don't use it anymore either personally I've always liked QTracker as it is way better than GameSpy 3D anyday of the week but Qtracker does take up 10 megs of memory to startup.

ShitSpy is more like it. I cant even use that program anymore cause of all the Ad bullshit. The only reason why I use it is cause I can play Halo online with it.

wanna know a little story about that moronic LameCry 3D?
a few years back when I still had a dial-up connection, I left that fuckspy on after I was done with a little tfc gaming. I got in my car and visited a friend for at least 7 hours and my computer was on all the time and crapcry 3d in the task bar minimized. well when I got back I saw the mess, because that moronspy made a connection to the internet just after I left to get his new ADS!!!! I dont know if you ppl know that 7 hours a few years ago was really expensive in europe and I had to pay that bill that this arsespy made. I dont use lamespy network anymore after all this shit and that crap with fileplanet.
