Out of the Blue

There are a couple of sad obituaries in the news this morning: Actor Dudley Moore dies at 66 has word that the comic actor has succumbed to the effects of the progressive supranuclear palsy he was afflicted with. While 'Mr. Television,' Milton Berle, dead at 93. Thanks Zdim. I've been meaning to get the DVD of It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World since it was recently released, and the idea of paying tribute to Uncle Miltie will no doubt spur me into action on that. Unfortunately, my favorite Dudley Moore project, the original Bedazzled, is not available on DVD. While it doesn't offer the lavish special effects (or the lavish Elizabeth Hurley) from the follow-up, the original version of the deal with the devil comedy, a collaboration with his then-partner Peter Cook, is a classic.

Welcome home, "Battle Group One," who Norfolk, VA resident Pure Evil tell us have returned home after an extended tour of duty.

You might try using another browser, maybe Mozilla (www.mozilla.org).

Could Blue actually make it out to see an original theatrical release? :-)

For the past week my browser has been acting up. I run IE6 and I would say 70% of the time when I click on a link another page will start to load and then freeze. the viewing area itself will remain transparent but the rest of the page will be normal. The URL window will remain blank and the page title (in the blue bar at the top) will say MS internet explorer but nothing else. I can right click on the link, hit "copy shortcut" and paste it into the URL field and it will work but pop-up windows will not (ie; screenshots etc). No matter how long I wait it never finishes loading.

I don't have any pop-up killer active on my system nor am I running a Virus checker (presently). Ive tried every setting imaginable in the options window. Ive set the security levels as low as possible with no luck. Ive emptied out the temp internet file folders and heaved out the cookies as well. Ive reinstalled IE6 twice and Windows once, Ive run trojan detection proggies as well as Norton Anti-Virus with all updates.,...no luck.

This REALLY sucks. Has anyone experienced this before? Anyone have ANY ideas....I'm fresh out. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hollywood will fuck it up, just like everything else they do. I used to have al the original Spdey comics from the 1960s. It was revolutionary. While other super heroes were just cardboard (no joke intended) characters, Spidey had a life. Yeah, it was a hopelessly screwed-up life, but at least half of every comic dealt with Peter Parker's personal problems. Like a super hero can't have a girlfriend, a normal job, etc.

I haven't read Spiderman since those days - I took a peek in the 1980s and it sucked.

We've had Superman, Batman, X-Men (I fucking hate X-Men), those bad Captain America movies (I loved Captain America - I used to have the originals from the 1940s). So what I want to know is, where is the best comic of all time? Where is The Fantastic Four?

from what I hear theres a lot of people in Hollywood who aren't exactly sorry to see uncle Milty go. They were discussing it on Sterns show this morning but I remeber reading similar comments a while ago.

No denying what he did for TV and comedy in general though
