TribalWar.Com
outlines the future of the TRIBES franchise, updating us on plans
for a TRIBES 2 patch aimed at: "fixing UE's, restoring frame rate for those
that lost it after the last patch, solving the 'Null' bug, and making
gravity a scriptable variable so modders can get to it. The ELF will be
'nerfed' and the disc launcher will once again always shoot to the
center of the reticle. The editor should be improved." The current plan is
to release the patch through the in-game auto-updater sometime "this
summer," after an extensive testing period, though it is stressed that
since a contract with the development team has not yet been finalized, this is
all still subject to change. Alex also offers new details on TRIBES Aerial
Assault, the upcoming PS2 TRIBES game, as well as plans for a TRIBES 2
modification contest later this spring. He concludes the update by saying that
Sierra is "most definitely looking [at] options for continuing the Tribes
franchise."
