Word from Strategy First is that Diggles: The Myth of Fenris, has shipped to retail stores across North America. If you aren't familiar, here's their description of the game: "The Diggles are an intelligent dwarf dynasty that passes on its characteristics, good and bad from one generation to another. They cook mushrooms, raise hamsters, produce tools and invent machines. They enjoy their leisure time as well by going bowling, playing cards or visiting the Pub!" Also from Strategy First is word that "Wanadoo and Strategy First join together to conclude a publishing deal with Bulgarian developer Haemimont Games, in order to release the strategy game Druid King." The game is scheduled for release during the third quarter of this year.

Called my local Gamestop this afternoon. Their computer says this title ships the 27th. Ahwell, so much for local. I'm going to place an order with EBgames.com, who finally lists the game as shipping (after changing the ship date numerous times), and see if it is finally available.

I played with the demo for about an hour. OMG it's boring. I kept hoping that I'd actually find something fun to do in it. I never did. It's a big yawn-fest.

Thanks... that was what I was looking for... I'll get the demo and give it a try.. It does sound like a good fun game (reminds me a little of Worms by reading about it)

Damn, I'm hoping this game has actually shipped. My roommates and I have been looking forward to it ever since I stumbled on the demo, probably here, in the early part of February.

Unfortunately, despite the game’s suppose release date in the end of February, shipment has been delayed 4-5 times since then. Oddly enough, the cause of delay for this little gem of a game was due to “malfunctioning copy protection”. This is according to an article I read on StrategyFirst.com (the publisher).

Now, while the article didn't say whether the copy protect. problem was stopping people with a legitimate discs from playing, or if the so called copy protection was not correctly preventing burned discs from playing, it has been torture waiting so long, with release dates pushed back week after week. It hasn’t helped knowing that these delays were caused not because the game needed some extra game tweaking, but because the copy protection was botched! : P

At any rate, I'm still very much looking forward to this game after having spent a weekend digging the demo. I liken it as a bit Dungeon Keeper, a bit The Sims, and a bit Creatures. All in all, it's an incredibly well done and entertaining title that is well worth downloading the demo.
