Well we've got that winter wonderland thing going around here this morning, but
just barely, as there are only a couple more days of winter remaining until the
seasons change (which is good, because spring wonderland doesn't have nearly the
same ring). We got a decent blanket of snow nonetheless, which is bad news for
many flowers and such that had begun to (as it turns out, prematurely) sprout,
having been fooled by the preternaturally spring-like atmosphere around here. I
also hear a lot of bird squawking going on, hopefully these are the hearty
ski-season type birds we've had all winter and not returnees from their annual
summer vacations that had also assumed spring has sprung. If they are, I guess
the cliché of the day will be 'the early bird catches a cold.'
