Out of the Blue

We had a rare server outage for yesterday, unfortunately it occurred during one of those rare stints when Frans (who is far less of a monkey about these things than I am) was unchained from his computer so it went on a few hours longer than it needed to, sorry about that.

The dance thing yesterday wasn't as torturous as I imagined. I guess it would have been hard to live up to my dread--that's part of the benefit of fearing the worst. I had completely forgotten the a fail-safe bit of entertainment one can always count on from these things... I have one word for you: Danskin.

Finally, today is Saint Patrick's Day, one of those annual celebrations that's often accompanied by the raising of a glass or two -- please be careful out there on the roads, as this always increases the chances of tragedy (I saw some of our fine New York State Troopers doing random intoxication tests on a nearby route last night to deter this). But of course, if you are celebrating, have a great time. Erin Go Bragh! (Whatever that means.)

Play Time: FLOW. Flash required. Thanks Sharon.
Link of the Day: LDN DOOM Miniatures. I have some of these, and now this has me thinking about trying to paint them (though I would make the demons pink).

St. Patrick's day, the most pathetic day in the year. Around here at least.

Half the country celebrates, the other half refuse to do a thing, even refusing to take the day off work or school. Why? Because he's the patron Saint of Ireland and they live in Northern Ireland. As I tell them, that's bullshit. St. Patrick lived in County Down, in Northern Ireland. Instead of refusing to celebrate, these people should celebrate for the patron saint of Northern Ireland.

Me? I just take the opportunity to get drunk and do nothing. One leason we should learn from our across-Atlantic friends. For that matter, why do you celebrate it? Because 1 in 1000 have a slight distance connection to Ireland? I guess that's a good enough reason to get hammered!

Cheers,
Xain
