Ships Ahoy: C&C Renegade

Command & Conquer Renegade Ships to Stores is the announcement that the action/shooter installment in the C&C franchise that had previously exclusively offered RTS gameplay "shipped to stores in North America today, and should be fully distributed worldwide by March 1." They also have information on how the game can be ordered directly from EA Games.

What is this average of yours made up from? Though I usually don't put much weight on reviews, could a list of these reviews be posted, preferably with links to these supposed reviews? Movie reviews can vary just as much as reviews for art, games, cars, etc. To each his own. When me and a good portion of my friends find a game we all have a blast playing, that gets high marks in my review. So while I'm stuck in my office, I'll remain excited about getting home to enjoy Renegade, and if my excitement offends someone, seek help...

Hmmmmm so smug. Well, you did make realize something...why waste time trying to get a crappy game to run...I believe the average score from most game sites and magazine reviews is about a D-. On that account maybe a vacation to a trash heap would be more fitting. Where they could look lovingly upon their first, failed attempt at a First Person Shooter.

If I did work there, I think I would be down in the Bahamas taking in some sun and enjoying some R&R after finishing this great game up. Sorry to hear you're having problems, hopefully you'll manage to fix whatever problem you have. You're missing out on great game.

Ahhh yeah, I bought the game and the framerate is horrid. And there aren't just a few people that are having trouble with the game...theer are many. And it's funny that every game that has come out recently runs fine on my machine. And by the way what's it like working for WestWood...feel the need to defend a shoddy product do ya?

And for those who are smart enough to spend there gaming money wisely and enjoy all the gaming goodness we have offered to us right now, CompUSA has Renegade for $30 and you get Tiberian Sun Free with purchase...

Out of curiosity how many of the young little vocal minority whiners around here even have the original Command and Conquer? How many bought and played it when released?

Chill little peeps. Take a step back, look at the forest and stop zooming in on the the bark of a tree.

I haven't had any problem with Renegade. Neither have any of the people I know and actually shake hands with everyday. I'm sure some people are having problems, but then again the few I briefly saw come across chats were often associated with warez and system reboots and other things that made me wonder about their systems more than Renegade.

Either way on a pretty mediocre system, I'm having a blast with my friends Renegading late into the night.

Compared to you, I represent more of a "real gamer" than a obviously troubled person such as yourself. I mean what kind of absolute pathetic fucking loser comes out and insults someone who simply doesn't agree with their game selection? Are you so caught up in your beliefs that you lash out anytime someone doesn't like what you do? Does being an obvious outcast who apparently finds meaning in their life by playing games matter so much to you that when someone insults your favorite game you treat it like someone just insulted your own mother?

The game is horrid. There's been so much done already that is well ahead of it. If my opinion bothers you so much, stop reading this place. I think you'd do society a favor if you'd just complete the act you mentioned in your first paragraph. What's amusing is you'd probably miss, hit your computer, then die of heartbreak.

Darwin award, baby.

Renegade is a bug filled mess with poor framerates even on high end systems. It is neither playable in single player or multiplayer...discuss. Sort of reminds me of the Pool of radiance disaster. And before I get flamed, I have the latest drivers, check Westwood's own tech forum if you don't believe that the game has serious problems, and last but not least, I took it back to to the store and so I'm over it. What a shame...

Go to the Renegade Tech forum on Westwood's site and you will see that a lot of people with high end systems are having trouble getting this game to maintain a framerate. The lag in Single Player is like a slingshot. And don't give me that "they can't test the game on every system" bit because many of us have generic systems. The game was released too early and they had 4 f-ing years to get it right. Right now, for many of us, the game is unplayable and that's a shame because I have been looking forward to the game for a long time. This is the first time I've had trouble running a game on my PC in at least 3 years. Poorly coded. The End.

Bingo! Noah wins the "nail on the head award." Hes sooo correct. The game needs a major overhaul. But by the time that comes around its competition will have blown past it. I didnt warez it - but at times I envy those who do. Sad that it comes to that, but its westwoods fault.

Real gamers? Jesus Christ, I hope you don't represent "real gamers" seeing as I consider myself a "real gamer" and if I'm anything like you, I'll have to blow my head off.

The reviews seem to be very mixed, ranging from 50%-99%, which should tell you something -- not everyone feels the way you do. I'm sorry that you think you represent "real gamers" but you don't. Not all of them, anyway.

I don't consider Renegade "low quality." It may have a few minor technical issues, but no showstoppers and certainly none that are bogging down my gameplay experience. I'm enjoying the game, and I'm sorry to hear that you aren't, but then again, we all can't work for a living, now can we?

So, since you represent "real gamers" go back to your mother's basement and play another game of Counterstrike, kid.

Wow an awfully defensive stance there I see, and add to that nothing but insults and foul language. And you call others juvenile?

Heh. Just shows that as long as people like you are out there who obviously have little demand for quality, then low quality products will be the norm. Of the large number of gamers here in my community which I see fairly often, not to mention people on chat, web forums, etc etc, the opinion has been pretty much the same negative one. I for one decided to still give it a shot and heaven forbid that I don't write a 12 page book report why I don't like something.

Now get back into your cubicle and let the real gamers talk here.

So, you don't say what's wrong with it, you don't say what you don't like about it, you offer no reason behind any of your juvenile, pathetic whining, only saying that it's "awful."

I find the multiplayer both enjoyable and innovative, like many people, so if you haven't got anything more to say from your uneducated, senselessly dull point of view, may I politely suggest you go blow it out your ass?

I made the mistake of purchasing this game, the only good thing that comes out of it is that the retailer I got it from allows the return of open-package software items. I'm just pissed now because of the gas I spent wasn't paid back, nor was the time.

This is yet another awful game. There will be the small select few who love it, there always is for ANY game out there, but it isn't for most. You can just...tell.

You dirty sods! Renegade isn't available here in New Zealand until March 7th, hmphhhh. I'll be pre ordering a copy once my inane flatmate get's off his ass and forks up his half of the required funds ^_^

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing the air units, they sound pretty fun. though what would any C&C game be without air defense? ^_^

This game looks great. You guys who say it's dated looking etc.. you really are fussy little toads! Your'e like those little kiddies who say "ZX Spectrum? wtf is that?". Oh wait, you are one of those annoying little toads ^_^

Have many of you fellas downloaded GMax yet? I have. I'm already working on my assault style Mini Cooper veichle ^_^

Contrary to popular belief, games programmers use their brain to figure out stuff and their fingers to enter code to make something work. they don't flop their penile extensions onto the keyboard or attempt floppy penetration at all to accomplish such objectives. O_o
