Out of the Blue

Happy Birthday pop! My dad isn't actually reading this, but this note can combine with some other reminders to make sure I give him a call to offer some well-wishing that he can actually experience for himself. Speaking of birthdays, the database on the site here is now three years old, and we now have more days worth of news in the database archive than the HTML one, though it is still important to remember that news prior to February 1999 will not show up in searches conducted here (though there's still the hope that some day the older HTML archive can be incorporated into the database at some point).

Link of the Day: towboat. Thanks Ant and NecroMancer.
Story of the Day: Uncle Sam Sues Miss Cleo Hotline. Thanks EvilToast. Apparently they didn't see this coming.
Bonus Story: Upcoming Superhero Comic Features Real-Life Marriage Proposal. Thanks theAntiELVIS. Clearly an effort to upstage CmdrTaco.
Media of the Day: Astronomy Picture of the Day. Now there's your lord of the rings. Thanks Zdim.

I wish they'd leave Miss Cleo alone... I've enjoyed her infomercials on MANY a late night while not studying like I'm supposed to

Am I the only one who remembers Miss Clue being sued by The Man (although more on a state level than a Federal government level) several months ago? I believe it was linked in an OOTB too, and the article used the same (obvious) pun about psychics that should have "seen it coming."

Old. Rob Liefeld proposed to his wife in an issue of Youngblood (I believe) something like ten years ago.

Hey Blue,
Penny Arcade has posted an article they got from David Chan at BioWare. He's the "audio guy" there working on NWN and he wrote a nice, good-sized article about how he got the job and what he does.

"...Then I started planning sound for Neverwinter Nights. Planning sound is an interesting process. It's like trying to build with Jell-O, because game design is such a fluid thing early planning must also be fluid, or so I have learned..."
