Out of the Blue

I'm off to pay a visit to Grandma Blue today... I'm trying to figure out what's more antithetical to spending the day working on a game site on the Internet than to visit the old age home, and a few examples come to mind, but this is right up there. IBM to unveil index card-size computer prototype, a story mentioned above, could change things like this down the road, though... maybe someday when visiting a spot like that, one could take advantage of some quiet time for a bit of hand-held Quake?

Weird Science: Corvette Floats on Air With Help From Magnets. Thanks [NARC]RevRaven. I achieved the same feat in a Corvette myself, though it was a temporary situation involving extreme speeds and a bump.

Damn I need sleep...what the... Thundercats... on UGO...they're back... huh?... looks like sleep will have to wait... I never thought I'd get something from a UGO ad...

I remember catching air in my '62 4 door Ford Fairlane... and the motor literally fell out. Broke the motor mounts.

Ahhh, my first car - best $20 I ever spent.

that brought back the memory of catching air in my buick lesabr. mind you i stopped imediatly to see if everything was alright (it was) and will never do it again

The F-18 looks like a nice alternative to morning and afternoon traffic.

On closer inspection at the seller's website, they say this thing used to be a Blue Angel.

I gotta get me one of those. . . . How cool is that?

The dual "fan" design reminds me of the "jetpacks" on the Micronauts I used to play with when I was younger (anyone remember Micronauts?). And then used again over and over, Highlander 2, Quake 2, etc.

You can already play quake on a handheld..but I don't know if it can only be single player. The 56k modem and the slow cpu wouldn't make it fun though.

Now all you have to do in combine that jetpack with the powered exoskeleton from a while back, and the military's new high-tech assault rifle, and you're not all that far off from the battle armor in Starship Troopers (the book, not the movie). Just imagine a group of these guys flying in towards you, scary stuff.
