Star Wars Starfighter goes gold reports GameSpot, saying that the PC port of this space combat shooter by Secret Level and LucasArts that previously appeared on the PS2 and Xbox, is now complete and is expected to arrive on store shelves by January 22.

Am I really the only person who enjoyed Rogue Squadron and Racer?? I agree with most of the posts -- the majority of Star Wars games are crap -- but I really thought those two shone above the others (on the N64, that is). Racer is still one of my all-time favorite racing games. Great maps.

i'm speaking about the recent games, oh say... last 4 years or so, note i said last good games from them, not the entire catalog... although, Tie Fighter = PURE fun, greatest space sim for its time--but my point merely is that they haven't made an outstanding game in years... it's kinda sad really, at one point they were one my favorite developers...

Dark Forces, Misteries of the Sith, TheDig, Full Throttle, X-Wing series, Rebel Assault, Outlaws, Indiana Jones series, Shadows of the Empire, etc.
are u serious?? what about X-Wing??? TIE Fighter??? X-Wing Alliance??? those were the best space sims Ive ever played besides Privateer 1 maybe! Rebel Assault was owning everything when it came out too!
I agree that rogue squadron, racer and all the other E1 games were BS... I hate those kid shooting games now anyway. I dont know much about Star Fighter, but I assume its not that much better than rogue squadron... they need to do another REAL space sim!!!

Hmmm, lets see last good Lucas Arts games... Jedi Knight, Grim Fandango, the Monkey Island series, uhm... Super Star Wars on the SNES. Hehe. 
Oh, and I think they also made the greatest Adventure game of all time, Day of the Tentical (eg; Maniac Mansion 2). They should stick to what they are good at or just publish games--oh, wait.

Well, Rogue Squadron is more console-ish than Starfighter. It is less sim, more arcade physics.
Playing it on the PS2, Starfighter is awesome. Since the Xbox port wasn't all that, the PC port probable won't be much better (except you'll have managable controls)

not me. Or rather, I wish they would do something like Rogue Squadron II on the PC rather than this kiddie colored piece of crap Starfighter.
i'm soo tired of all these starwars games. at least they could do something original instead of ANOTHER spaceship sim fighter.
they should work on monkey island 5 instead. or a new adventure game (lucasart was good at making adventure games).. anything, as long as there's no starwars in it.
goerge lucas is becoming plain stupid nowdays (ruining everything he worked for in the past -- ie: starwars episode 1 & 2 =]), it seems lucas art is going the same way. is it only me who think this way ?
