No offence, but I'm curious, did you stick around long enough to see if they fixed the problems or was your beta testing with the game "hit and run"? A beta is supposed to find problems and fix them... I've seen games run like cr*p in beta, especially early on, and eventually come out of the shoot doing pretty well on public release. At least they are not charging for the client AND charging a monthly fee (I've always thought that takes big brass ones).
