Czech site GamePort sends word of the first eight screenshots of Gothic 2, the sequel to the third-person action role-playing game by Piranha Bytes that will now be published by JoWood Productions. The brief article offers the first details on the game, for which the story continues right from the ending of the original.

Yeah and they are from a very early Version of the Game as German Mags like gamesweb.com and gamestar.de reported. In the end they could be even better. 
I'm not a rpg fan. I dislike the FF series and zelda was just to hard. But Gothic is worth the price of admission. It's very immersive with good graphics and storyline. I think the graphics and sound help it alot, maybe it's the 3rd person view in a 3d world that hooked me. Kind of like AC or EQ. Whatever it is, I am glad to say that I have been transformed to an rpg fan by this game.
Yea, I got the same feeling too when I played it. Though I wasn't able to complete the game because of some very annoying bugs, it was a LOT of fun when it was working. It had a huge, beautiful, rich game world that sort of reminded me of the old RPG Betrayal at Kronder.
I loved Gothic and hope that the sequel continues along the same path.
Every time I play Gothic, I am reminded of the old Playstation game called King's Field. The music and environments in Gothic make me nostalgic.

I've never actually seen convincing foliage in a game, much nicer than the usual dungeons/deserts we've all grown so used to. I've heard gothic was a pretty solid game (the demo won't work on my comp for some reason, though..)
