Out of the Blue

I'd like to attempt to clarify something about the Medal of Honor brouhaha one more time before hopefully putting this matter behind us. We have been criticized, and surprisingly even more often than that applauded, for "sticking it to" EA (among stronger language) and others by distributing the demo, but I really want to stress that in spite of some of the wild interpretations of what happened and our motives in this matter, if we really expected there to be a problem with us posting it, we would not have done so in the first place. More than enough has been said about this situation already, but the notion that we were trying to knowingly distribute something against the originators wishes bothers me enough that I feel the need to once more say that this was not the case, and nothing about this situation changes our desire to abide by the wishes of the creators and publishers of materials like this as far as embargoes and release dates are concerned. There... I feel better having gotten that off my chest (again).

Link of the Day: Dave's Web Services. It's on Geocities, so they will exceed their bandwidth allocation quickly, but pretty damn funny while it lasts. Thanks (some other) blue.
Story of the Day: NSYNCH in Star Wars: Episode II. Thanks HOMER.
Media of the Day: YATTA! (Windows Media Player required). Been a while since we've had a crack-addled music video, and this one takes the cake. Thanks lazz.

I don't know. $5 bucks says he wanted to give them a role.
Instead they have a small blurb without speech and then they die. I'd go just to see them die.
But if he ****s up with anything having to do with Boba Fett, he'll see a gigantic chunk of his fanbase just leave, get shitloads of hate mail, and Episode 3 will fail. I garauntee you.

His last crappy outing is the result of what happens when you surround yourself with "yes men". Lucas made the original when he was still trying to prove himself and was actually taking the series somewhere interesting in the 2nd but the 3rd starting showing his pandering to box office receipts and merchandising rather than his creative vision.

I walked out halfway thru his last film completely disgusted with what he has become, a fat slob who is more concerned with company business than taking the series to the next level.

just looking at the last several Lucasarts video/PC games is evidence of this.

BTW, the "YATTA" video has been making the rounds for a couple of months now. Evidently the singers are a comedy group who do a show that is the equivelent of SNL in Japan. The video is a parody of the Japanese pop-boy bands (so Im told) that ironically became popular in its own right.

I dare anyone not to start humming the refrain while watching it.

I think the nsync thing was a joke...

anyways, no joke, I couldn't get that medal of honor sp demo to work anyways. It installed fine (I even downwloaded it twice) and loaded fine, but when I clicked on either easy medium or hard or whatever the choices were, the game freezes my machine right there. Have to reboot, can't get back to windoze, nothin... anyone else have that problem?

Lucas' last few endevours in the SW universe have convinced me at least, that he must have got lucky with the first three SW movies. Or maybe it was because I was 7-13 when the movies came out that I thought they were good.

There is much better entertainment out there than Star Wars. Movie entertainment has moved on, George is still stuck in his own private fantasy world and to tell you the truth it is a fantasy world that I would rather not pay to go see antmore. Let him stay there with his muppets, jar jar, and nsynch. Jesus, he'll probably put Boy George in the next SW because his gay cousin loves Culture Club.

They are the clones the title refers to. In the movie they have to seek-out the wisdom of their elders by finding all the ex-members of Menudo.

Imagine actually finding characters more annoying than Jar-jar Binks.

Yeah, leave it to Lucas to use a group of unknowns as extras in his latest movie. Heck, Blue can't even spell their name right.

NSYNCH [sic] in Star Wars: Episode II.

Lots of SW fans seem upset about this; one wonders if they'd be as perturbed if it was cameos from John Williams, or Lucas himself. whatever - it's a "blink and you'll miss it" kind of thing so who really cares, eh?
