Westwood Q&A

There's an interview with Louis Castle on Computer and Video Games talking with the Westwood Studios general manager about artificial intelligence as part of a week-long series of such Q&As on that topic. The discussion covers the importance of good AI, the current state of the AI art, examples of good and bad AI, AI in the C&C series, the possibility games will become smarter than the players, and more.

"...the possibility games will become smarter than the players..." Okay, the may be some pretty stupid gamers around, but that's just insulting.

Louis Castle is so full of cr*p. AI in the C&C series? C'mon, who believes that? I can't believe Louis was saying things like "In essence, even our single player strategy games 'feel' like there is another player.".

I can't believe the article's author would interview Westwood about AI? What was he thinking?

Other RTS games like Star Craft had much better AI than any C&C-based game. I'm sure there are other RTS examples.
