AvP2 MP Demo & Patch [Oct 23, 2001, 8:17 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
As promised, Monolith has now released a patch for the Aliens Vs. Predator 2 multiplayer demo, and we have a local copy with mirrors of the 4.3 MB download online. As reported this weekend (story), the patch addresses the server browser crash and also adds a few new server browsing features. Additionally, an updated version of the complete demo is available in case you didn't get the original yet, weighing in at 64.1 MB. Finally, Fox Interactive producer Dave Stalker sends along a note on the updated demo and the patch (thanks NolfGirl.com).

Well this was a good patch wasnt it !
On 3 different servers I was playing just fine then all of a sudden it kicked me to the menu screen saying "Too many players connected"
I was already in the fekkin game so why did it boot me out to let some other chump in?? Talk about shite.
Jesus christ, what kind of a multiplayer game is it that boots people out who are already playing. Absolutely useless. I could pull a better multiplayer game out of my a- oh hey hey kids, hoohoohehehe..

... its a game that lets you leap from the air and rip apart marines. I happily put up with crashing demos for that, and I'm sure I'll happily put up with flakey-ass final versions for that on more than one map.

...a patch for a game that's still 1/2 as slow as it should be with terrible balance and crappy network code. Wheee.

At least you know the patch for the retail version will be out promptly. 
Seiriously. For a game that has already gone gold, bugs this significant mean this product is being rushed for the holidays.
I am a fan of AvsP and loved the first one, but after spending an hour waiting through the fileplanet spam-while-you-wait crap and then having it crash to the desktop EVERY time, Im left with serious doubts about how the full version will fair.

I think they might have confused "Demo" and "Public Beta".
