Out of the Blue

A few of the responses to my ramble about pumpkin pie yesterday concerned another joy of the winter holiday season: eggnog. It seems that many of those who share my affection for pumpkin pie also dig eggnog, which I love at least as much as Balok relishes his tranya. I actually don't really enjoy the boozed-up version, as I'm not big on Rum, or cocktails with the consistency of syrup, but a virgin eggnog is a little slice o' heaven. Of course one of the common threads between the two is that they both contain nutmeg, which I believe can be actually considered a drug (I think it's an MAO inhibitor), so maybe we're not enjoying the pie and eggnog as much as the side-effects. Hey, maybe that's the reason these are only available for a small portion of the year? It keeps us from having to enter a nutmeg 12-step program.

Play Time: Poke the Bunny (Shockwave Director required). Thanks Antony, Darren Denenberg, and Avatar[DJedi].

…Balok relishes his tranya.

Hats off to Blue for the obscure reference to a classic Star Trek episode.
(I’m referring to the original series as being classic, not necessarily the episode.)

As a rabbit owner, I can attest to them biting fast and hard when you do things like poke them repeatedly, or take their carrot away. Don't let the cute a fuzzy thing fool you.

Okay poke the bunny is easily the most absurdly funny thing I have seen in a long time! I poked it a few times at first and was quite amused, but when it bit me? HOLY COW lol.

Oddly enough, I just looked up the word "irony" in the dictionary, and it also had this story printed there.

I'm Dutch myself and also sprinkle some nutmeg over my green beans. Without nutmeg they're not quite the same

My Dutch brother-in-law introduced me to the practice of sprinkling a little nutmeg on your green beans. Sounds weird, but it rocks.

"A virgin eggnog is a little lice o' heaven"

I enjoy eggnog as much as the next bloke, but a lice
of heaven makes it a bit less appealing.
