Wolfenstein Video

There is a Return to Castle Wolfenstein video on FilePlanet (registration required), offering more insight into the development of Gray Matter's first-person shooter for the cost of a hefty 111.7 MB download. It is also available on the pre-order bonus CD for the game, if you happen to be bandwidth impaired. Word is: "This lengthy movie shows extensive new game footage, plus great video interviews with some of the folks at Gray Matter: Drew Markham (Creative Director), Maxx Kaufman (Art Director), Greg Goodrich (Executive Producer), and Corky Lehmkuhl (Character Designer)."

Don't expect a perfect game. I just don't want to have to apply a patch every week or two just because christmas is around the corner & the company wants the quick holiday sale. I never patched System Shock 2 to correct anything - the only patch for it added co-op play. The worst case I ever experienced was Red Baron 2. I never bought anything Sierra after that except when I saw Homeworld.:o

I can't believe they went and put fire breathing zombies and electric arc nasties in this supposed 'period' shooter.

It's not supposed to be a realistic war simulator. It's supposed to be a video game, and the Wolfenstein series has always toyed with bizzarre nazi experimentation and the occult. Hell, Spear of Destiny ended with you fighting a big demon.

Sorry you expected something different, but it sounds like a misunderstanding on your part, not the fault of Gray Matter or id Software.

I can't believe they went and put fire breathing zombies and electric arc nasties in this supposed 'period' shooter. I got the MP test, loved the authentic looking skins and weapons.. then got the trailer. What a major let down. Guess Id can't get away from thier "Demonmonic" past.

Of course it will come out before Christmas. This is ID we're talking about. Never release until we're done. Remember the last time? Patch it before the game is on the shelves & patch it 27 times thereafter. They will send it out to catch christmas sales even IF they have to send you a sticker label for the blank CD they didn't have time to press.:(
I'm done ranting...

It should...hopefully. ^_^

The "unofficial" release date had been hovering around November for some time and, fairly recently, moved to an early to mid December date.

Additionally, the new video ends with a "The Blitzkrieg begins this Christmas" message.

Hoping that it doesn't run into any last minute delays,
Ray

Is there another way to get the movie without paying for fileplanet's outrageous "premium" file servers?
