Yeah, it was one of those mods where it had granted the player such pleasure that they did not care whether they won or lost.

I don't think people play it anymore, but I could check. Just look on Gamespy or try planethexen.com or hexenworld.com or something of a similar nature.

What ever happened to Siege anyway? That was the most brilliant mod I'd ever played. I enjoyed it even more than Counterstrike, and I really enjoyed Counterstrike. The epic battles went on a long time, and even if you lost it was always a blast.

Jedi Knight I though was named Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight.

So therefore, this game should be titled Jedi Knight II, should it not?

Just because a game is a "sequel" doesn't mean it needs to follow the same naming convention. There's probably a reason that it's slightly different and therefore not a continuation of a certain series. You may feel it "should" be Dark Forces III, but it isn't, it's Jedi Knight II.

I also found a lot of 'secrets' in Heretic 2. Me and this guy named Viper would roam levels looking for places you are not supposed to get to, but since your character is able of many things, he can perform such feats that the map designer had not thought of.

Well, they had Heretic, Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders (which was the full game and an extra two episodes), then came along Hexen. Hexen does not follow the same story that Heretic does, so it is called Hexen. Then we have Hexen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel , which was an expansion pack that I had lost. We also have Hexen 2, and then Hexen 2: Portal of Praevus.

Then Heretic 2 was released, which has no relation to the Hexen serie of games.

Yeah, one of the best mods of all time was Siege, a mod for Hexen 2. There would be two teams and one would have catapults to launch barrels at the wall with. They could swim in a moat but must beware of the fish that bite. There were a lot of things in that mod; so many things, that it could never get boring. However, it was not played forever, and before I had noticed, barely anyone was playing.

But I am compairing it to Dark Forces II (released in 97) and technically Dark Forces III is what the next game should be called, or if ya wanna get really long winded, Dark Forces III, Jedi Knight II, Outcast

Seems Raven gets really long sames like Star Trek Voyager, Elite Forces Expansion Pack, heh

Wasn't it also Raven that made Heretic, then the sequal Hexen, then Hexen 2, then Heretic 2? I mean shouldn't that be Heretic 1, then 2, then 3, then 4?

Me's think someone at Raven needs to learn to count, but I'd be happy to overlook this as they are making games better and better with each release.

Dark Forces 2 almost looks better than Renegades.

I mean have you seen the models and the vehicles?

The models are quite horrible and the vehicles all look like toys. I just think this is one time Westwood should have leased an engine, like the Halo engine (would be perfect) or the Unreal2 engine (same thing but might have to add vehicle code.)

The more pics you see of this game the more and more it looks dated. At this rate Westwood should spend lest time on really good looking CGI's and spend more time on the game engine itself.

(but I am gonna complain about the models and weapons and vehicles looking very lackluster, i mean even quake 2 models look better)

Alt text it supposed to be used as an alternate text. The standards say that when an image fails to load it is supposed to be replaced with the text in the alt tag and become normal text. Tooltips are controlled with the title="" tag.

We normally have something related to the game in the "alt text" field for these logos so that when you put your mouse over the logo it offers a hint

Actually, the alt-text field isn't the place for such "fun" stuff. The alt text is there for people who can't see the image for some reason.

Furthermore, standardcompliant browsers, like Mozilla, will not show the alt text if the image is loaded, even if you hover your mouse over it. The title field is the appropriate place for such things...
