Wolfenstein E3 Movie

You may remember a Return to Castle Wolfenstein movie appeared online in June but was pulled again due to copyright issues (story). Activision has now re-released this E3 trailer with a new sound-track, and we have a local copy with mirrors online. This 30.5 MB download in QuickTime format is notably smaller than the previous version, but sports the same 2+ minutes of in-game action as before, showing off many aspects of the single-player part in Gray Matter's first-person shooter.

#4 & #5,
The original score for the footage was from Aliens, and FOX got all pissed off at Activision and told them to get rid of it. It was never going to be in the actual game.

Yeah, the music is, probably, one of the worst scores I've heard in my life. Thank goodness I still have the original trailer to watch - those last 20 seconds of theme sounded so awesome in the original trailer, and the new trailer just....ugh.

I hope someone at Activision is getting thrashed for the bastardization they did to this thing.

And, like you, I'm praying they didn't do this to all their music for the game.

These are the differences that I could tell between the "original" trailer and the just released one. Most of this info is from the quictime movie properties.
Video Size: Orig - 640 x 480 New - 320 x 240
Sound: Orig - 44.1 kHz, Stereo, Compression IMA 4:1
New - 22.05 kHz, Mono, Compression None

Besides being smaller, the new video is also darker.
Other differences include: RTCW logo at the end is different, "Comming Soon" changed to "The Blitzkrieg Begins this Christmas", and "Rating Pending" is now "Mature"

On a personal note, I think the new soundtrack BLOWS. It was one of the driving forces of the original trailer: pounding drums, wailing violins, just awesome stuff. The new music is simmilar but it sounds almost like someone tried to imitate the first but did it with MIDI instruments. I REALLY hope it's not indicative of what the actual game music will be (and I'm sure it won't be, unless they really plan to do it in 22.05 kHz and MONO)
