Out of the Blue

It was five years ago today that this site moved from the webserver at my ISP and became bluesnews.com. It's been a wild ride with many ups and downs, but I can't imagine it being more fun that it has been. Thanks to all our loyal readers for all the support over the years, and here's looking forward to the next five years and beyond.

Play Time: Ninja. Flash required. Thanks Ant.
Link of the Day: Monzy Central, including the previous month's update with a couple of images from the Tokyo Game Show for which I've been trying to find the source for some time. Thanks EvilToast.
Home Page of the Day: Welcome to The Falcon's Nest. I kiss you. Thanks again EvilToast.
Story of the Day: Burger King Workers Burn Feet. Thanks Brett Hopkins.
Follow-up: Jedi Knights achieve official recognition as a religion (The Register). Thanks Jekub.
Weird Science: SlugBot: Enemy of Slugs. Thanks WarPig[doh] and Mike Longino. I wonder if these work on grubs?
Media of the Day: APOD 2001 October 8 - A Yukon Aurora. Thanks brother19.

"...now I have a useless bit of internet trivia I can easily remember (or can prod myself into remembering by surreptitiously peering at the date inscribed on the inside of my ring)."

And if you're a really hardcore Blue's News fan, you no longer have any excuse for forgetting about your own anniversary.

yeah, I realize that we mostly refer to ourselves as mormons when speaking casually with people otherwise unfamiliar with the religion, but if this person were an LDS Bishop (not an ordained minister of the mormon ward) then he would know to use the correct name. I guess I shoul've stated that more clearly before.

The only thing I can come up with is that Piero is either a slug or a Burger King executive (or both?).

So Piero, just stay out of peoples gardens and nobody will send the robot after you or your family. Oh, and try to clean up after yourselves - those trails you leave are fairly gross.

But, if you're the guy who thought up those yummy french toast sticks you can move into my vegetable crisper.

I have watched your site since the early days.....it is the essence of good reporting, humor, and plain old fun. You are the bar to which other gaming sites should hope to reach. Pat yourself up the back and see you again in five more!!

I think it is pathetic that the producer of this site as well as its readers find pleasure in the misfortune of others and in some cases actively seek out and create these situations. I will no longer visit any part of this network and neither will my friends and family.

I have to think this guy made this peice of crap for the express purpose of having people ridicule it. There are no such things as "ministers" in the "Mormon" faith. And any self-respecting "mormon" would refer to themselves as LDS, or Latter-Day Saint, not "mormon"

Whoa... I have a headache from that guy's website. "Web Designer Extraordinaire"? Umm, I don't think so. Talk about a bad case of "stream of consciousness". The same thing over and over and over and over and over again. (although some of the pictures were nice, but what's with cutting out catalog pictures?)

Interesting reading in some parts... Let's see, he's 25 and yet he's: a black belt, a doctor, ex-Navy Seal, a preacher, part time teacher, owns his own comic book store, sells books for men only, and is a millionaire. Oh yes, and has designed 40,000 websites. (which unfortunately probably all look like this one. Ouch!)

And let's not forget, he wants to fight the military injustice against the black man and Tu-Pac was his hero and he posts quotes from Tu-Pac about "all women being bitches".

Whew! Who's more evil? "The Falcon" for creating that page or EvilToast for sharing it with us?

Cholma

Hey Blue,

My wife and I just celebrated our five year anniversary a few days ago. I'd never realized our respective anniversaries were so close...now I have a useless bit of internet trivia I can easily remember (or can prod myself into remembering by surreptitiously peering at the date inscribed on the inside of my ring).

Congratulations on hitting the five year mark -- I've very much enjoyed your site during that time.
