story on Coming Attractions has details about a possible film adaptation of
Alone in the Dark, saying it is in the "script stage," and that "Angry
Films" is producing the film for Dimension Films. The brief synopsis they
offer says: "it's about a pair of supernatural investigators who are
stranded on an island haunted by ghoulish creatures that live in the shadows."

Reguardless of which game is more popular, both movies will still suck. That is a fact, although i would love, just once, to be proven wrong.

Ok quick comparison, Resident Evil Movie - Alone in the Dark movie...
which would more people have heard of
Yes Alone in the Dark recieved higher acclaim...and I'm sure most everyone reading this will agree its the better of the two...but that's called cult status.

Is there anyone that actually takes Hollywood seriously? I'm surprised Solitaire still hasn't been made into a movie. I mean c'mon, that game is HUGE, damn near everyone has a copy, a movie of it would make BILLIONS at the box-office.

I still think they should re-do one of the old H.P. Lovecraft stories. Now THAT is something i'd go see.
Didn't the first game have Cthulu(sp?) stuff in it? What I remember the most is the ghost in the chair and the book in the library that snapped your spine if you read it. That was a great game. They don't make them like that anymore...

I mean...god... if you're going to do an Alone in the Dark movie and not make it about the first game...
What's the point!? why not just make a Resident Evil movie and have umpteen more people recognize it?!
For that matter why not just make a generic survival/horror/adventure/island flic?!
Not that I'd actually pay money to see any of these sarcasm-filled examples...
