If you think about it, Intel's chips have been overpriced for years(decades), so has memory. We think memory prices now are "cheap", but when you think about it, they are right about what they should be. Currently, video accelerators are the most expensive hardware we (gamers) put in our boxes, and that's just about what should be as it is specialized hardware, though I still think prices over 300 for these things is a little too much- given they have the shortest lifecycles (less than 2 years) compared to other PC components.

Geez, 15% of their workforce, this ain't good. Obviously the PC market slowdown is having noticable effects on Intel as well, since it's looking like all they'd need to do is bring in further price drops to put AMD out of the running.

The only good thing i could see coming out of the hard times the industry is going through would be the possible emergence of other, smaller, competitors, but there hasn't been any sign of that happening just yet.

Hello... Can we say *DUH*!? Here you can't get DSL unless you get local service through Verizon. Of course with many cheaper alternatives out there, nobody actually 'wants' Verizon. You figure it out.

Doesn't the continued insecurity of IIS fall under the clause "Microsoft is harboring (cyber)terrorists"?

As Bush said, "you are either with America, or you are with the terrorists."
