Thank you to Justin Wagner for his
article about Blue's News on PC Gamer. I enjoyed talking with him, and his
take on the site and its history turned out quite kind. I went into our
conversation intending to be my usual transparent, over-sharing self. But no such planning was required, as Justin is an excellent interviewer who put me
so at ease that we had what simply seemed like an interesting chat. The
good old days we discussed were more community oriented, and it was
common for publications to provide coverage that might draw attention
elsewhere. That's much more unusual these days, so this is a throwback experience
with a meta aspect I really appreciate. If you happen to be here because of that
article, I'm sorry the holiday weekend makes for sparse updates, but what can
you do? Welcome, and thanks again to Justin and PC Gamer.

Nice! I have been following Bluesnews as long as I could remember since 98 or 99'.
I also regularly use bluesnews.com as a load page to test internet connection, whenever I had to fix internet / satellite issues on board the ship I was working on because it is so lightweight!!! (just to show the chief engineer that everything is working, ping doesn't count when nothing is loaded on the webpage for them ;D )

Bluesnews is the GOAT gaming news site. Hell, not just gaming news. I came here on 9/11 for info on the attacks when CNN and all the other news sites were down. Great community as well. Proud to be a member.

I remember Blue back in the say in 1996 along with Redwood, Stomped, Scary Shuga Shack so I took a break then resumed in 2019 and Blues is the only website that I browse on, keep up the good work Blue cause it provided everything I really need

Not because I am a jerk (shut up back there whomever you are; I hear you laughing) but because it took me over 10 years of being on here before I figured out how the -secret- function worked on Bluesnews. I still can't get the -Link- function to work properly most of the time. But I am not exactly the brightest bulb in the fixture, so....

Blues News is by far the longest-running daily-check website for me. I've been checking in every day since around 1999, and it's usually my very first stop in the morning. It's also the only bookmark on my phone. It is the only site that combines consistently awesome content and a lack of annoying nonsense. Keep being awesome!

You would think that Stephen is going to see a nice little uptick in site membership after this. I have to admit: my selfish side wants to keep the site smaller and intimate, but obviously Stephen would greatly benefit from a big influx of new members.

That is a good article, surprisingly in depth which is great. I found out about the site probably around 1998 from some co-workers who were in to Quake. I have visited inconsistently since then, never bothering to join the fray (discussions) until recently. Ironically probably because of something dumb Cutter said. BoP, Prez, Jivaro, NKD, jdreyer, Redeye9 (RIP), and many others have made this a very cool place to hang out and talk games plus other things. Glad I joined in to the fun.

Oh wow…even typing up this comment section reminds me of the good old days of forums when places like EZBoard existed.
I can’t believe that I have been ignorant of the existence of Blue’s News for so long! Wait…there is a secret button here. I want to push it, but what if it causes terrible things to happen? Oh well…I’m doing it.
Anyway! I enjoyed reading about you on PCGamer and I had to check out the website for myself. Definitely an appealing blast from the past and something that I hope to see more of in the future! Thanks for still existing. It’s a magical find in this grimdark reality of ads, opinions, and rage. The happy little kid that was all over the internet gushing about his love for the first Warcraft, Command and Conquer, and Fallout would have felt at home here. Better late than never.
