It's probably just semantics to some but saying the series is "cancelled" bothers me more than just a little. You cancel games currently in development; you don't cancel a series. Believe it or not there was a time when 6 sequels weren't planned before the current one even ships. It wasn't that long ago. There was no announcement that series' like Baldur's Gate or Fallout were cancelled because there was no follow-up coming in a year or 2.

I'm wondering if the axed people will start a new sim-cade racing studio or not.

Turn 10 grabbed up the people from many of the sim-cade racing companies. Now that they're getting dumped, I'm curious what they'll do.

I'm also wondering if keeping key people in "support" positions for Horizon is partly to keep them from doing that. I doubt it, but you never know. Maybe the company has an unannounced idea for a new series, and is sitting on the talent while they explore the idea.

Honestly at this point you might as well just spin a wheel with all the games on it to guess what happens next. The only clear direction they seem to have is trying to capitalize on AI asap. Of course AI is not Plug & Play, much like their drivers for old Windows.
