Wolfenstein MP Test Saturday

GameSpot reports that the multiplayer test demo for Return to Castle Wolfenstein, originally due for tomorrow (story), is now scheduled for release this Saturday (thanks HomeLan Fed). As a form of consolation for the one day delay, two new screenshots are included.

True, but what does any non-gamer know about DoD? Wolf will prolly be one of the biggest selling action games of the year based on it's name alone, not to mention how well it's been marketed, which means nay-sayers will probably pick it apart like vultures would a corpse in the desert... or something to that effect .

I can only imagine the controversy RtCW will cause among the mainstream media and parents-against-gaming groups if you are able to play as a nazi in multiplayer. When Nerve announced that you could play for either the allie team or the axis team, i thought they might only be including other forces that formed the axis, leaving out the nazis, but judging from the new screens, that's not the case.

It's going to be even harder to get this demo on a Saturday when people have the option to be home all day hammering the servers. eek!

As for DoD and Firearms, they have way different gameplay (aside from pointing at things and shooting them). I prefer DoD myself, so I hope this new Wolfenstein game can offer just as engrossing gameplay. We'll find out on Saturday... (woo!)

never cared for DoD myself. You can get the same gameplay in Firearms but with a lot more weapons and maps. I guess its the WW2 setting that people like.

<loading up map>

<selecting light infantry>

<spawning on map, checking ammo>

SQUAD, MOVE OUT!!!

On a semi-serious note, that is a very popular and easily recognizable location for any given map or game...

Loving DoD ^_^,
Ray
