'70s Rock Musician and Producer Bob Andrews Has Died - MSN. Probably meaningless to most, but he's strongly tied to some of my favorite musicians. He was in both Brinsley Schwarz (Nick Lowe) and The Rumour (Graham Parker). I was lucky enough to see him perform as part of the Graham Parker and the Rumour reunion almost 13 years ago. As obscure as that sounds, you and most everyone probably know his work, as he produced the massive one-hit wonder There She Goes.

RFK Jr. announces 8 appointees to CDC vaccine panel—they’re not good - Ars Technica.
We lost one million dead to COVID, the greatest single cause loss of life in US history. Nobody ever talks about it. It's as if it never happened. I really wonder what it will take for people to take pandemic planning seriously. 10 million deaths? 100 million?
At 100 million, you are probably in a nationwide panic, but leaders are still blaming each other. Each state is likely to have different levels of success based on population density and other demographics. Any President might be on their 3rd or 4th Secretary of Health by then. Hell, the President, the VP, and on down the list...they all might be dead or incapacitated, with 1/4-1/3 of the population dead. You might be running the country with Linda McMahon at that point.

Not to make light of a horrific situation, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I immediately thought of Bruce Willis and Sam Jackson in a wheelchair the instant I read this.
