Aspyr announces Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition, an upcoming version of the classic RPG coming to PC and consoles on July 15th. This marks the game's console debut, and will come with all three expansions as well as gameplay enhancements which include improved textures, controller support, Steam Workshop modding, and more. The first Neverwinter Nights got an enhanced edition in 2019 from Beamdog, which was acquired by Aspyr in 2022 by way of Embracer group, so this is stall all in the family. The Windows version is coming to GOG.com and Steam. Here's the Announce Trailer and a refresher:
A dark force sweeps over Faerûn, ravaging everything in its path as though searching for something – something that you now find in your possession. As the Shard-Bearer, only you can stop the King of Shadows and his army from desecrating the land you call home. Will you save Faerûn, or fall victim to the temptation of absolute power? When your actions dictate the fate of the Realms, there are no small choices.

The great time I had playing NWN1 mods were still superior to anything in NWN2. Some truly awesome mods came out of NWN1.

NWN2 on a writing, acting, story and NPC level was far superior to NWN1 which was nothing more than a giant fed ex quest with a forced, foreshadowed down your throat evil turn character. Yes NWN2 had some camera issues but from a 3.5 ruleset and the toolset it was amazing.

Hope they fixed the shitty camera/movement control scheme.
I have heard second hand, by some who had tested it early, that the controls were significantly improved from the original game. I haven't played the EE version myself, but I remember struggling with the original NWN2 game.
