Double Fine Productions announces Keeper, an upcoming single-player adventure where you play as a sentient lighthouse with a companion seabird on a spirit quest. This has a listing on Steam showing an October 17th release date. Illustrating the dangers of being too generic, Steam also has a listing for another upcoming game called Keeper, along with more than a thousand other games with Keeper in their titles. Here's the Official Announce Trailer along with some details:
From Lee Petty and Double Fine Productions, creators of Stacking, Headlander, RAD, and Psychonauts, Keeper is a beautiful and surreal third-person, atmospheric, puzzle adventure, and a story told without words.
On an island in a long-lost sea, a forgotten lighthouse stands dormant in the shadow of a distant mountain peak. As withering tendrils spread and coalesce, it awakens. Taken with a mysterious sense of purpose and joined by a spirited seabird, it embarks upon a heartening tale of unlikely companionship, an odyssey of mystifying metamorphosis, and an unexpected journey towards the center of the island, into realms beyond understanding.
