This Announce Trailer has the unexpected announcement from Obsidian of Grounded 2, the sequel to its Honey, I Shrunk the Kids-inspired adventure. And this chance to once again get small and engage in backyard battles is almost upon us, as the trailer says this is "coming July 29, 2025 to Game Preview. This post explains, and says the Windows edition will come to Early Access on Steam at the same time. This post is jammed with details, while the description has a more general overview:
When you've been shrunk to the size of an ant, what was once familiar is now a wild, uncharted frontier. Traverse sprawling manmade spaces overgrown with nature with buggies that can fight alongside with you, uncover hidden secrets, and fight to survive in a world much larger than the backyard. The playground may seem familiar, but beneath its bright colors and towering structures lie mysteries hidden in plain sight. Are you ready to uncover them?

I defeated all of them alone but also had explored and produced the best armors, weapons, and equipment in the game.
Grounded was very good and I'm excited for this. I just hope the sequel feels more balanced for solo play. Some of the enemies and challenges in the first game were stupid difficult if playing solo, and basically required co-op. Not great for my playstyle. It's been a while but if I recall, there were some timed challenges where you had to kill a specific number of enemies in a set time that felt like they were literally impossible to complete solo. Can't wait to try it out next month.
