Today's promised showcase for The Outer Worlds 2 included an Official Story Trailer setting the stage for the science fiction RPG sequel. It also sets the date, saying our chance to return to its titular Outer Worlds arrives on October 29th.

I'm looking forward to this one as well. I liked the first one because it wasn't too long. Sometimes these types of rpgs can get boring if they go on forever. It was surprisingly short but I was ok with it

Gamepass? Not me.
I can (sorta) understand people who succumb to drugs. I can understand people who succumb to booze. Or to fast food. Or to ShitfliX or Amazon Crime.
But to succumb to GamePass means you have terminally given up any last tiny crumbs of dignity. GamePass is the abyss. The void. The end.

Listed at $80 on Isthereanydeal.com and on Steam. Is this just incorrect preliminary information or are the industry bean counters collectively losing their minds?
EDIT: Just read on IGN that, yep, 80 bucks. I just cannot figure out the suits - do they WANT games to fail and to be forced to lay off dev teams due to abysmal sales? I suppose that being this is Microsoft this could be a thinly-veiled attempt to get people to sign up for Gamepass? Not me; it's a good deal for some but it's a voluntary forfeiture of the consumer right to own things to me. Pass.
