Team Clout and Mundfish Powerhouse offer a new Official Trailer for ILL, a survival/horror first-person shooter. The game previously revealed (not here) for PC, and the trailer reveals it is also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The trailer lives up to the horror genre as it features grotesque enemies and disturbingly realistic graphics. It doesn't have a release date, but its Steam Listing is live. Here's the description:
ILL is a realistic first-person action survival horror game that challenges even the most seasoned fans of the genre. The game plunges you into a grim world with an eerie, atmospheric story where every minute keeps you on the edge of your seat.
The game developers are horror experts and have experience working with well-known directors. Their work can be seen in various movies and series like Longlegs, Until Dawn, V/H/S/Beyond, It: Welcome to Derry, Azrael, and more. Now, the team is aiming to fulfill their dream and create a game that will claw its way into your consciousness and expose your true fears layer by layer.

Looks dope.
I think you mean it looks sick.![]()
Pretty interested, until I learn that these guys are based in Moscow, and report directly to Russian Intelligence or some shit. Definitely some Russian looking helos and buildings, and weapons.

That issue that was mentioned about some games being too shiny is partly an issue with the artists. That tends to be fixable. Some engines might create that need to tweak things in the first place, though.
To illustrate what I meant and, as I said, it seems to be a general phenomenon with no regard for the engine that has been employed, here's some screenies:
- Diablo IV #1: Look at the glossy stuff on her face. It's probably supposed to look scary, disgusting, gross... but does it? Nah. It looks artificial, especially because of those shiny/glossy blotches.
- Diablo IV #2: Look at what's probably supposed to be a blood-soaked floor. It looks way too shiny and not realistic at all.
- Diablo IV #3: On the left hand side we're probably supposed to be grossed out by the organic intestine-like stuff. Well, nope. It also looks artificial and plasticky with that shiny coating.
- Doom TDA #1: Pay attention to the lower half of the demon where the intestines are laying bare. Scary or gross looking? Nah. Once again looks very artificial with that glossy coating.
- DOOM TDA #2: Nuff said just by looking at the screenshot. That is one squeaky clean demon!
- Clair Obscur #1: Shiny happy corpses.
- Clair Obscur #2: Glossy fake blood.
- Clair Obscur #3: More shiny happy corpses.
^ And you could go on forever across many genres and games. As I said, I believe this to be intentional because actual realistic gore, guts and blood would lead to millions of kiddies puking all over their keyboards.
For her fake Chinese glossy plant
In the fake plastic earth
So much depends upon
a red wheel barrow
glazed with rain water
beside the white chickens
