A post on X by Marcin Momot has surprising news from the CD PROJEKT RED community director for Cyberpunk 2077 who understood that development on the action/RPG is done. Word is that a version 2.3 patch will come later this month. Insider Gaming puts together the case that this update will actually be new DLC:
The Cyberpunk 2077 DLC was also mentioned during the latest episode of the REDStreams, which focused on the game’s release on the Switch 2. Towards the end of the stream, senior community manager Glicja Kozera stated that she can see a lot of people asking for a DLC and can confirm that they are “planning another part for the game, the last one wasn’t the last one.”
Kozera added that Cyberpunk 2077’s update 2.3 is scheduled for June 26. The developers will return to REDStreams closer to the release window to reveal more details about this DLC.

Really wish they add a way to skip johnny's memories.. I'm at my fourth or fifth playthrough and stopped after I didn't want to go through the Alt Cunningham part.
I'm still looking forward that update and all my mods being bricked though.

It's absolutely fair to criticise CDPR for shipping an unfinished game. That would have been a fair point. Still unfinished? Nah, it's been finished and great for years now.
Would have been and still is. That the game is excellent now doesn't erase history. I can recognize both, and I have a very long memory. But they at least helped me learn, once and for all, to never pre-order a game. Ever.
But people have been begging on their knees for a Steam page with a preorder, or at least a follow and a wishlist, button so they can play-pretend preordering.

Pouting about "incomplete" games comes across as incredibly naive. There is no such thing as a finished game in modern game development. Games are abandoned when it is no longer economically viable to continue development versus working on something new. The only reason why we had "feature and content complete" games in the past was because there was no easy way to update them pre-internet.

I went to a restaurant one time, I bought a delicious meal that I enjoyed at a good price. As I was leaving, the manager came up to me and said "You really seemed to enjoy your meal. Here's an extra portion for free, enjoy!" and handed me a to-go container with more of the delicious food.
I immediately sperg'd out and yelled at him. I told that no-good son-of-a-bitch that he should have put that extra portion on my plate in the first place and that he retroactively just ruined the whole meal for me. I then flipped over a table and punched a waiter.

With yesterday's release of Cyberpunk on the Switch 2, there's a significant incentive to continue updating the game. And they'll very likely release enhanced versions again for the next PlayStation and Xbox.

TIL: Companies that add free content to a game after launch SUCK, because they did not release a feature * complete game. Ok, thanks for that.
