Star Citizen Free Fly

Cloud Imperium Games announces the Invictus Launch Week 2955 is underway, celebrating Star Citizen and Squadron 42, and highlighting the possibility one or both of the crowdfunded space games might launch before 3000 A.D. In the meantime this includes another Free Fly period, allowing the chance to play Star Citizen for free and see how the alpha is shaping up after 13 years of development. On that topic, a Flight Blade Feedback Update has word from CIG it is changing how it is rolling out a "Flight Blade" feature that sells enhancements for all the spaceships sold during the game's protracted (if not permanent) development cycle (thanks Reddit). This is a response to backlash from a customer base that's not big on backlash, so you know it was serious. Back to the topic at hand, here's more on the free fly schedule:

Welcome to Star Citizen! From May 15 (16:00 UTC) until May 27 (20:00 UTC), we're celebrating our annual Invictus Launch Week 2955 and you (yes, you!) can play for free. For the duration of the event, all players will receive an Aegis Avenger Titan - an iconic fighter that’s perfect for exploring the system.

Sorry. I should have said I purchased this CryEngine mod back in 2012 and this makes Duke Nukem Forever look like a masterpiece.

Or are you one of those that mistook QTest for the Quake game?

I already have the game and figured I'd give it a try to see what progress there has been. Of course, I couldn't get in because of the free fly event and I was placed 471 in a queue.

CIG is constantly prioritising new players buying the game rather than doing anything with the game itself. I decided to checkout the offline grav race mode and... oh my goodness are the graphics appalling. This game is actively going backwards. At least when it first released it looks kinda okay because it was based on CryEngine. Now it's absolute trash and runs horribly.

PC Gamer also wrote about flight blades and the community uproar.
Their community director spilled this tripe:
"We're pushing 11 patches this year instead of 4. We’re crushing more bugs than ever, building more exciting content, moving faster than ever to make the Persistent Universe a better experience for everyone, and in moving that fast, we missed a step."

Their excuse is they are moving too fast, LOL. I think the only thing moving too fast with this debacle of a, "game" is the increase in their level of greed.

I paid for an original backers pack way the hell back in 2012 (and never any money since) before we knew this was going to happen. I've played it exactly one time since then. At this point I don't really expect to ever get anything worth my money. C'est La Vie

This has always for me been a scam, always will be.
How long has it been going on for now, with no finished product at the end.
I just feel sorry for those who invested in this charade.
