With DOOM: The Dark Ages set to arrive in under a week. Bethesda presents the Official Launch Trailer. This takes a look at the hellish environments and breakneck action players can expect from the new installment in id Software's classic among classic first-person shooters. The description oddly starts off with "stand and fight" for a game that's all about running and gunning. Will eventually buy on sale but not inclined to fork out 70 bucks for what's on offer here. I only played the previous two games to completion once each and never bothered with them again.

Same here. I think I said it in a prior new article related to this but this is the kind of game if Blockbuster was around, you would pick up on a Friday after school, play the hell out of it over the weekend and try to beat it, so you can return it early the following week. Never to rent/play again.
Once this is down to like 15-20 bucks, I'll snag it.
More like Doom the W0KE ages.. the game has a ton of cut scenes, making it play more like a mexican novela that all them illegals love watching.. They literally added a shield to make the game easier to play for woman. Notice how you’re forced to wear an Antifa mask and most of the so called “demons” are red, to normalize violence against christians who love Jebuz and Donald Trump.

Once a year or so I am reminded why the Internet needs a globally standardized font indicating sarcasm.
So good they did away with all the fustrating timed monkey hoop jumping/hanging/wall running.
Now I'm a killing demigod again, and not a meth high squirrel.
This is one game I can come back to again and again, as with Doom 3.

It would be nice if Bethesda set up Doom 64 on Geforce Now next week for us cheap guys that aren't going to shell out seventy bucks for Dark Ages. 
The PCG review sounds like my expectations. Less complex battles and arenas than 2016 and Eternal, but still fun. Just missing a bit of something. That's kind of what I feared from the trailers, given that I thought Eternal was one of the most entertaining FPS gameplay loops I've ever played and few games have ever made me feel as powerful as that game did.
The secrets also being less work is disappointing.
Will still probably buy it full price, will just expect to be slightly disappointed but still love it.

I am really lucky not to have FOMO about much of anything in my adult life. I don't have enough money to do anything but miss out the vast majority of the time
$20 tops
I'll get this.... once I complete eternal, and this is on sale. I loved the first, replayed it to get all the unlocks. This is a throwback to the first so that is a positive.
It's $58 on Green Man Gaming.

I still haven't played 2016 game! I stopped after DOOM 3.
I am a weak gamer with slow response times, so while I could beat Doom 2016, I couldn't beat Eternal even on the lowest difficulty and wouldn't buy this in case I run into the same issue...
...But it's on Game Pass and I like FPS games, so it's just a (sizable) download. I can leave my PC on overnight a night or two.
