In fact, I'm pretty sure it's preferred among people who play a lot of it. Especially when playing mods.

??? I am excited about it, to the extent that I want to play it when it comes out. It seems like you are just angry that I expect actual journalism from journalistic entities, not "let's find 3 new ways to tie anything we can to GTAVI today!" I literally read an article from a respected news organization that gaming is dead in part because GTAVI was delayed. I'm not overreacting or being some old grump. But believe whatever you like.
