Yeah that headline was definitely not written by a smart person... "false myth" is like a double negation making it a truth... jeez

You can make lots of fun to play builds including one that does mana from health which comes back when you damage an enemy, infinite mana in other words. It was a solid game which is why I found the DEI changes to be just weird. It is like he was looking for something to blame for lack of success. Well, I don't really think that soulslikes are a big market for conservative gamers so making a change specifically for them at the cost alienating other parts of the community, just weird.
Personally I gave up in the beginning of the game because the control scheme was so god damn complicated. Been meaning to try it again with the 2.0 patch..

not sure if you are sarcasming, the DEI change was in Feb. The latest change was 2.0 which added a bunch of non-related updates including free coop play. Regardless, the 32k peak player count is nothing to crow about, Clair Obscure beats it by 4.5x. Personally I enjoyed the game but IMO the failure was not due to DEI but the fact it was a soulslike. The soulslike genre is a really hard one to succeed in.
