Bethesda Game Studios xeets about the enthusiastic response to this week's surprise release of the remastered version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This expresses gratitude, saying the game has already sold IV million copies in the IV days since it arrived:
We are so grateful to the over 4 million of you that have already ventured into Cyrodiil with Oblivion Remastered. Thank you!

My gaming backlog is so huge I was tempted but am completely satiated with games I want to enjoy. Still getting through KCD 1 and Fallout NV, turns out the older you get, the less time you have to enjoy games.![]()

Too bad I’m more into the sci-fi genre, would’ve bought a properly remastered System Shock 2 in an instant…
Fallout 3 will be the next remastered game. Maybe we will get a shadowdrop of F3 Remastered in 2027? And the new TES VI in 2029?

I remember the Dark Brotherhood questline being heralded as a bright spot in an otherwise dull game.

Will wait for a very deep sale. Looks like mods can be a thing. Still don't like how ancient the game engine is and how besthesda still refuses to make a new one. Gamebryo engine is older than a lot people in the world.
I'm all for criticizing gamebryo and the renaming of it, but the remake uses UE5.

It's interesting how the perception of Oblivion has changed since 2006. Back then it was a popular game but there were a lot of criticisms of it. The repetitive nature of oblivion gates, the uninspired generic fantasy setting (compared to Morrowind), the level scaling, the horse armor. I remember the Dark Brotherhood questline being heralded as a bright spot in an otherwise dull game.
