Bethesda Oblivion Stream Tomorrow

It appears we're on the verge of a payoff on the (basically confirmed) rumors of a remastered version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which have come to a head recently. Bethesda is far from oblivious to the chatter, a post on X has a conspicuous IV and indications we should expect a stream tomorrow on Twitch and YouTube at 11:00 am EDT.

What else would someone like that be than a commie cunt? Huh?

Come on. People like Lord Steev, and many others around here, who are currently tripping over each other to OMG-INSTA-BUY TES IV Oblivion Remastered for a ridiculous asking price given the age of the game are exactly the ones who love to dump all of their shit at the mere mention of the name Todd Howard, on Bethesda, on Starfield, on Oblivion and what horrors were supposedly done to them by the mere existence of Horse Armor.

That's simply a fact from just about every Bethesda-related thread around here. It is the same weird phenomenon as with Ubi games though. People here love to shit on Ubi but then Star Wars Outlaws or AC Shadows is released and (almost) everyone is preordering anyway.

Just like (almost) everyone around here has currently caved to peer pressure, FOMO (of whatever) and given up their self-esteem, self-restraint and self-everything. Slobber. Slobber. Slobber. Must. Buy. Hype. Hype. Hype. Slobber. Slobber. Slobber.

It is even more ridiculous when you consider that most of these man-children are in their 40s and 50s. They shit on Bethesda all the time but then all it takes is a little hype, peer pressure and voilá... they happily suck the dickus longus.

I give it two weeks max until the hangover sets in. Then we'll be back to our regularly scheduled Bethesda shitting and Oblivion Remaster bashing and why it isn't all it is hyped up to be and why Todd still sucks and why Bethesda should go bankrupt, yada, yada, yada... we've heard it all before and will hear it again.

Dude, you've got problems. I've long supported Bethesda and even Todd. They've made some of my favorite games I've ever played. What's so small in your life that makes you want to tear into people you don't know? It won't fix your loneliness.

Gotta love those hypocritical Bethesda haters who shit on Bethesda for horse armor supposedly being a "rip-off" but then they still preorder or buy every Bethesda game day one . That'll teach them for sure! Keep up the pressure!

You know you can criticise one thing without despising everything associated with it? You can think one of a company's products isn't worth buying and still think another is worth it. That's not hypocrisy, that's having the emotional intelligence to be able to not sit in one extreme or the other. I replayed Oblivion something that feels recent, but was probably 10-15 years ago. It was fun having a full Chameleon suit, until it wasn't, but that's because I did like 100 Oblivion Gates until it got tedious. Don't know why. Don't know what I expected.

I think Oblivion was peak endearing wonkiness. I really do love that game.

Oblivion is the snooziest of the most recent three Elder Scrolls games.

I opted for the deluxe edition, downloading now. If I can get even a tenth of the entertainment out of this that I got out of the original, it feels like a steal. Money for this is so much better spent than money for the latest always online extraction shooter.

Damn they knocked it out of the park with that video. All the UE5 features (assuming that meant hardware lumen, nanite, etc), combat looks much better, spells much better, UI is massively better, all dlc built-in, etc. How cheap are you people to complain about the price for a remake/remaster of this magnitude it's only $50 lol. Wish they kept horse armor seperate buy just for fun... It'll go on sale eventually but I'm definitely getting it sooner rather than later. Love that Bethesda dropped this day 1 like this.

All of the old DLC is included with the base game, the Deluxe upgrade gives you two *NEW* cosmetic sets (including player armor, weapons, and horse armor) along with the soundtrack and digital artbook. There is mention of quests associated with acquiring the new armors, but I'd be surprised if they're more in-depth than telling you to check out a specific cave or ruin which has an added loot chest.

What I think I find the most joy in is that my elderly dad will get to play it, probably his last foray in to an Elder Scrolls game given his age. Oblivion is his favorite in the series, too, so that's even better. I am sure he is downloading it on his Xbox via Gamepass as I type this.

But goddamn...Steam's download servers must be getting hammered because I am only pulling about 75MB/s right now. Generally I can cap out my connection when downloading from Steam no matter what time of day.

Edit:

Now up to 120MB/s.

I fully admit I was wrong in calling bullshit on the leak lol.

Yea that's really exciting too, leveling was one of the bad parts of Oblivion, damn this is a great remaster. Hope it doesn't need to many updates to be bug free. Recommended specs are bizarrely low for a UE5 game too I was hoping to need to build a whole new rig lol.

That price is a mistake, right? Mwahahaha. No, thanks. I'll wait a year or two. Thanks, though, for the remaster. $30 I am willing to pay, so I'll be waiting for a sale in 2026/7.

Btw, the "Deluxe" dlc gives you some... HORSE ARMOR?! Okay, Beth and Todd, now you're really taking a dump on your fans, right?

The livestream has been an absolute chore. Twitch is completely incapable of large livestream evens like this. Constant drop outs, audio sync issues, etc. It's honestly embarrassing how bad Twitch is.
