The features that make those cards worth it aren't useful for games that aren't trying to pour a ton of data into VRAM.El Pit wrote on Apr 16, 2025, 03:25:theglaze wrote on Apr 16, 2025, 00:12:Let Team Green shills explain why this is the best ever amazing idea and totally great for potential buyers. Anyone? Rogue 6 maybe? Can you please spin this for us?Simon Says wrote on Apr 15, 2025, 18:24:"Nvidia explicitly preventing AIB partners" from sending out 8GB models for reviewers...

Sure thing. There is a simple rule based on factual, empirical evidence: The louder the YouTube clowns are whining, the better nVidia is doing.
I already posted numbers and facts before (below). The 8GB VRAM is a non-issue. The vast, vast, vast majority of gamers, according to the most popular PC gaming platform, own cards with 8GB VRAM or less. Just look up the Steam hardware survey. It's a fact.
And the Year in Review stats also speak for themselves. There is a HUGE market for cards like this. Not everyone "needs" a RTX 4090/5080/5090.
If y'all don't wanna buy one of these then don't. Simple. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head and forcing them to buy an 8GB VRAM card. It's never been easier than today to do your research and find out which graphics card is right for you. Everyone needs to decide for themselves whether the RTX 5060(Ti) is worth it to them at the asking price. It's all very simple, really.

Depends. There's a fuckton of people out there who only play Counter-Strike, LoL, Dota 2 or other really weird shit like that on a 1080p ancient TFT display. What would they need more than 8GB for?

Nvidia doesn't want to, or will never get, the clue. Major opportunity yet again squandered. Exactly why I moved to Team Red this upgrade (and I only upgrade every 8-10 years.. (aging 2070 creeps along) The sooner the public gets the memo that Nvidia doesn't care about gamers and jettisons their garbage the better.
If you are only upgrading once a decade (and only in the measly 60/70 range) then you are definitely a customer they give exactly zero fucks about lolz.
