I don't play the game but others, yes, in which I want to leave mid-match for varied reasons, and I do not see why a penalty should be given under those circumstances such as:
1. Opposing team have more players giving them a distinct advantage.
2. Opposing team consists of clan/clans while mine is random players, meaning they have a distinct advantage.
3. My team is clearly, badly losing and there's still a lot of time left on the clock.
4. It's a game, I have little time to play, so I expect to enjoy it even if losing (not badly/heavily), and if I am not enjoying it, I will move on.
5. Bad attitude team mates. I will not remain with a team who are rude, unhelpful etc. I always pull my weight. I will not stand for aggressive chat.

Instead of punishing players leaving, why not create a better game? Why put clans against randoms? Why are aggressive/rude players still allowed to play? Why can't players who drop be replaced by a bot (R6Siege)? It seems to me increasing penalties is an excuse for Devs who can't create better systems that better match players by skill or similar attitude. What was that game in the past that put cheats with cheats? Do that. While some point fingers at players quitting, I point another finger at the game creators for lacking the ability to better matchmake.
