Atoms have always been awarded for free through gameplay. The most direct way is by unlocking achievements, but you also get them from the seasonal reward tracks.

Overall, though, I'm super excited about this update. I'm not sure if playing as a ghoul is for me, but it's a pretty cool thing to have, and it's breaking new ground for the Fallout series to be able to play as one.

Some of these people got the game for free when the Fallout show came out and feel they're entitled to get everything for free.

I find it awesome that the game is 6 years old and they are still putting out multiple free updates every year.
