I still think it is a mistake to retire Pat.
It's always a mistake to put a bean counter in charge of an engineering firm. Intel's own history shows that. Moreover, there has never been an example where a bean counter has turned around a long standing engineering company for long term stability. It's always been to raid, pillage, and extract.
