FuuuuUUUUUUCK I saw the thumbnail and then started watching this for 10 minutes straight just licking my lips and already planning what my June would look like because of this release. And then: PS Exclusive!

The disappointment knocked me right back into a depression.

Death Stranding is a VERY slow burn when starting the game. Probably 2nd to AC Vahalla, but once it gets going.... it really gets going.

I enjoyed the first more than I thought I would. Both the gameplay and the story. Definitely interested in second.

And don't worry, they WILL release the second for PC. Last few years Sony has been doing that a lot more, releasing more exclusives on PC, and raking in the cash. And they've promised investors more cash from that.

I hope they release one of the collectors editions for PC. I might end up getting it.

"It gets better after several hours" is not a phrase that I expect many will be all that impressed by, but it is true here, for better and for worse. It completely works for a Kojima game if you are a fan of his like I am.

I pushed myself through the first couple hours and ended up really liking the game. The story is top notch.

I'm definitely looking forward to this.

I really hope there is a peaceful mode because I am very very into the hiking, carrying packages, dealing with terrain obstacles, climbing ropes, bridges, zip-lines... all of that shit... but absolutely cannot stand the console action-game combat/enemies.
I also want to keep going with the weird story too but that was secondary to the package delivery and hiking that I enjoyed so much.

not every game has to be like a game made by kojima, but i do love his weirdness and uniqueness and i loved ds1. the game industry needs at least one kojima

if you picked it up during the epic giveaway then I would suggest installing it and playing. Sure, some people think it is tedious. But at the same time it has a lot of base building concepts that work really well. If you like base building grinding type of stuff you will probably like it. It can also be interesting to see the other player world building that you will find. And the story is one of the best of any game. The easy way to play this game is to collect every package, drop them off at a collection point near their destination, and when you have a full load for a destination deliver them all at once.

I got it for free on EGS and played for about 5 hours or so and got bored and uninstalled. It's definitely not for everyone. It will be interesting to see what the sales numbers are like compared to the first one

I'm not sure Sony has anything to do with this one, at least the timing of the launch of a PC version -- but historically Sony does passionately love their PS timed exclusives. Couldn't immediately find any information about Sony having any agreements with Kojima Productions, beyond something about a PS4 exclusive game at some point.
Companies like SquareEnix have publicly expressed, in SE's case I think around May 2024, that timed exclusives have absolutely hurt their bottom line and they're moving on from them, and have demonstrated cozying up to the PC platform with actual half decent ports.
