Control 2; Max Payne 1 & 2; and FBC: Firebreak in Full Production

Remedy's annual report for January–December 2024 is now available, laying bare the finances of the Finnish developer. If the presentation is too snoozy, Game Developer shares the important details, noting that Alan Wake 2 is now officially profitable, Control 2 is now in full production, full production of Max Payne 1 & 2 is on track, and Control spinoff FBC: Firebreak is also in full production. There's also a look ahead and a bit more on the previously mentioned Remedy Connected Universe:
"We have two established own franchises, Control and Alan Wake, which are linked through the Remedy Connected Universe. Remedy will self-publish upcoming games, in which Remedy owns the IP. Growing and expanding the two franchises will be a key part of our future. In addition, we work with a partner franchise Max Payne that was originally created by Remedy," said the company, discussing its long-term prospects.

"By 2030, we aim to be a highly regarded creative studio with sustainable, significant commercial success. We have set ourselves the following financial targets: 1) Double the 2024 revenue by 2027 with continued growth beyond this milestone and 2) EBITDA margin of 30 percent by 2027 and maintain that minimum level throughout the strategy period."

Can someone explain how Remedy can be working on the Max Payne franchise while Rockstar owns the IP?

Well crap I guess I should get around to playing Control. I think I own it on two platforms or more at this point.

I am all about Control 2. The rest are...ehh? Max Payne was a one trick pony, and I'm not sure it's gonna hold up today without some changes.

Look at Remedy knocking it out of the park...

Have they said Max is in the connected universe yet? His bullet time powers and hellish waking nightmares would fit right in.

Last I heard was official confirmation that it is not connected. They obviously wish it could be (featuring an almost identical character throughout the AW games and making the occasional easter egg-type reference), but they do not own the IP.

First and foremost, Take... CONTROL!

Second, looking forward to Control 2 and the Max Payne remakes. Especially the latter.

Yeah, the Max Payne 1 & 2 mentioned are remakes. They aren't just relaunches on new platforms.
