I wonder if Simu can even speak Cantonese. I'd be disappointed if he only speaks mandarin - since people of Hong Kong speak cantonese, and so did the characters in the videogame. Also, he is not a very good actor. Yes, I watched all of Kim's Convenience haha.
Kim's Convenience is great, but yeah, he's basically the straight man for the comic actors in that. I thought Shang-Chi was pretty good, in spite of them wrecking the comic background.
