Meanwhile your national debt continues to explode unchecked. You guys sure make it easy to loot the treasury because you have zero interest in how your government takes and spends your money. I'm all for accountability of government spending, but I'm weird like that.

Canada's national debt is ~107% of its GDP. The U.S. national debt is currently ~123% of GDP. That's not much difference.

https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/GG_DEBT_GDP@GDD/CAN/FRA/DEU/ITA/JPN/GBR/USA

The U.S. holds the world's reserve currency, FWIW, which is why so many nations are willing to invest in U.S. debt. Both countries have the same credit rating overall.
There's also world-encompassing humanitarian and social support that the US provides, which is being gutted left and right currently, that provided a lot of long-term benefits for the nation that it seems that GOP doesn't understand. Goodwill does translate to financial return over time based upon things like aid packages that lead to us having things like more favorable trade negotiations to access to land/resources. This is the building block of a productive nation and going "well we aren't getting paid right now, so it's a bad thing" is what we're dealing with right now.

Sure, we have many deals that aren't directly returning their investments, even over time, but the goodwill it creates with other allies can quickly make up for it. But the GOP seems to think that the "spend money to make money" mantra is 100% bad. Besides, almost all of our debt can be shored up by changing the budgets for things like the military by only about 3-5%. Hell, with 10% of the military budget that we spend needlessly, we could easily fund social safety nets and allow for a UBI that could make sure we don't have a massive homelessness issue like we're seeing (even with greedy developers/landlords/etc).

Yeah, FWIW in my uneducated 5th grade dropout opinion; it's easier to make more money, than to color within the lines.

I mean the past and upcoming voter suppression helped a lot, more than 4 million votes rejected for reasons that are dubious at best, mainly targeting democrat dominated areas in swing states, mail-in ballots and ethn diverse areas... I mean, no big deal right?

Sounds like the Hungary shenanigans all over again. And we all know how that turned out.

But yeah, kind of.

Some guy on Youtube says it? Well, than it must all be true in that case!

somebody wrote an article about the trump negotiating style. in that world there are winners and losers, the winners pay less and get more, the opposite for the losers. the problem is that that does not work in a global market. China goes to russia for their soybeans and so on. it will be interesting to see how much electronics go up. I am hoping they they target musk particularly hard.
